A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges lands this Friday, July 3, the moment your console clock ticks over into the new day. Five events, seven days to clear them, and the usual stack of bonus tickets waiting for anyone who works through the list.

New to the format? Weekly Challenges open up once you’ve taken the GT Cafe career through Menu Book 39 and sat through the ending movie.

Each set pairs four standard World Circuits races with a single Special Event, and reward tickets drop at one, three, and five completions. They land in your Gifts and have to be redeemed before the set expires. Clear everything with clean race bonuses and there’s somewhere in the region of 1.3m credits in cash and prizes on the table.

This Week’s Highlights

The headline is the Yangwang U9 one-make Special Event, which sends BYD’s electric hyper-car around Fuji International Speedway for six laps. It’s the U9’s second outing in a Weekly Challenge since it arrived in April’s 1.69 update, after a two-lap run at Le Mans back in May.

On the World Circuits side, the Gr.1 Prototype Series at Sardegna’s Road Track A is the big earner at 220,000cr for 15 laps. It’s one of the fresh races that shipped with June’s 1.70 hypercar update, which makes it a ready-made excuse to put the new Ferrari 499P, Porsche 963, BMW M Hybrid V8 or Peugeot 9X8 to work under the 950PP cap.

The Lightweight K-Cup is the curveball: a single lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a kei car held to 400PP on Comfort Softs, worth 100,000cr. One lap only, so it won’t eat your evening, but a full circuit of the Green Hell in something that small and slow will be interesting.

Rounding out the set, the Historic Sports Car Masters gathers 580PP road cars built between 1960 and 1989 for five laps at Goodwood (55,000cr), and the Japanese FR Challenge 450 opens the week with a quick two-lapper around High Speed Ring in reverse. At 10,000cr it’s easily the smallest reward on the board, though it’s also the shortest thing here.
