Driving diminutive radio control cars through the home of an eccentric scientist in WheelMates reminds us of Micro Machines or Motorstorm: RC, but with an added hint of It Takes Two.
You see, as you explore, you must complete little tests, or challenges, requiring cooperative play to figure them out.
The aim is to overcome oversized household objects and find hidden areas across a series of puzzles. Completing these will reveal the reason behind the professor’s disappearance, with teamwork said to be, by developer Firevolt, at the core of the experience.
A PC demo on Steam was released earlier this year, but during the Summer Game Fest Future Games Show on 6th June 2026, this was updated with revised controls, handling and Steam Deck support.
A release date of 7th September 2026 was also confirmed for PC players, with free co-op support for one other player via the Friend Pass app.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are in development for a later release.
