Track Day: From Street to Circuit Dev Log 5 Features Career Mode Progress And A New Car

The latest Track Day: From Street to Circuit development update leans into a "less talk, more show" philosophy, and while there is still plenty of work to do, it offers a revealing look at how the project is evolving behind the scenes.

One of the biggest highlights from the update is the continued development of the Career Mode interface. What was previously just concept art is now transitioning into a fully functional in-game menu, complete with its own music and visual identity.

Although still unfinished, the UI appears to blend old-school Gran Turismo with modern design and usability, hinting at a career experience meant to feel immersive rather than purely functional. The dev team really wants your feedback, so make sure to leave comments both below and on the YouTube video linked above!

Meet "Polvo"

The team also revealed a new car model nicknamed "Polvo," designed specifically for experimental use. While details remain deliberately vague, the tone suggests this will not be a pristine showroom vehicle. Instead, it is likely intended for testing physics systems, damage modelling and the beginning of gameplay. The car will likely feature in the game come release, but for now, it is simply a test dummy.

There is also a playful hint at the inspiration behind this "Polvo", a Polish automotive icon once notoriously mistreated by Jeremy Clarkson! Any guesses what the "Polvo" is based on?

Recreating Tor Poznań In Detail

Environment work continues at a strong pace, with a strong focus on faithfully recreating the hub of Track Day: Street to Circuit, Tor Poznań. The team has highlighted just how much detail goes into building a real-world circuit, from visible trackside structures to the often-overlooked infrastructure hidden around the facility. This attention to detail reinforces the game's commitment to authenticity over rushed, generalised assets, a rarity in much of the gaming world right now.

There is also a real-world context influencing development. Tor Poznań, Poland's only FIA-homologated circuit, has faced an uncertain future following a temporary closure decision by environmental authorities. While that decision has since been suspended, the situation remains unclear, and the circuit is certainly not out of the woods just yet. That uncertainty is motivating the team to preserve the circuit digitally as accurately as possible.

Physics & Wheel Support Still In Progress

While much of the update focuses on visual progress, the developers acknowledge that some of the most important work is happening behind the scenes. Physics development, particularly with wheel support in mind, remains a major priority for Track Day's future. It is not something easily showcased in screenshots, but it will ultimately define how the game feels to play. The team promises a closer look at these systems in future updates.

This dev log does not introduce sweeping new features, but that is exactly the point. Instead, it highlights steady, tangible progress across multiple areas: UI, vehicles, environments, and core systems. You have to put this into perspective: the team's size, compared to many other studios in the space, is minute, so the promise of a steady flow of dev blogs is encouraging for Track Day's future!

With more frequent updates planned and ongoing communication via the game's Discord channel, Track Day: From Street to Circuit continues to build momentum, one step at a time.
