Project Motor Racing Update 2.0.0.6 Now Available - Full Changelog

Project Motor Racing has received its next update, preparing the sim for the launch of the GT Icons Pack DLC. Here is everything in the new version.

The latest Project Motor Racing update is here, as v2.0.0.6 has launched. This prepares the title for the release of the GT Icons Pack DLC on June 23, which brings a number of classic endurance racing cars to the title - some of which are a rare sight in sim racing.

The new cars come in three classes, and they will be accompanied by new Career Mode events that feature them. Interestingly, the new track supposed to arrive in the update, Rocky Knoll Raceway (which looks a lot like Road America) is not mentioned in the patch notes nor the official overview of the update, but it can still be seen in the screenshots that feature the GT Icons Pack cars.

The pack can already be bought on Steam, costing €13.49 thanks to a 10% discount over the regular retail price of €14.99.

New Setup Options, "Alpha-specific" VR Settings

PMR v2.0.0.6 introduces new setup options. Thus far, players could not adjust their brake duct openings, which is now a possibility in cars that support this. Brake ducts are an important tool for brake and tire temperatures, and they influence top speeds on long straights, too.

At the same time, adjustments to the third spring can now be made should a car have one. This is particularly prevalent on high-downforce cars and can help with stabilizing the aerodynamic platform of a car while using the "traditional" springs to maximize mechanical grip.

Straight4 has also reworked the slipstream effect, according to the official patch overview, which should now result in "more consistent drafting behavior and improved balance".

And while VR is still not on board the PC version, there is finally an entry in the changelog concering Virtual Reality: Alpha-specific settings have been implemented - so there could be some movement on that front.
