Following an initial hint, Assetto Corsa Evo is set to welcome the Ferrari 296 GT3 to its roster once the update drops. Although the road car is already present in the game, the GT3 car is a welcome addition to the ranks.
The Ferrari 296 GT3 was one of Ferrari's most important GT milestones. The Italian brand had been running the 488 EVO for a number of years, but that platform was looking tired compared to its much more modern competition, so in came the 296. Ferrari wanted the car to represent their commitment to GT racing, and the transition from a V8 to a V6 struck a chord with many fans.
As revealed in the launch image for the v0.6 update, the official announcement of the Ferrari 296 GT3 comes as no surprise.
What we can expect from the v0.6 update
Alongside the 296 GT3, we can expect five other cars and a brand-new circuit, which has already been revealed as Sebring, to join the roster of Assetto Corsa EVO.
As for the cars, so far we know that the Ferrari 288 GTO, Lamborghini Countach, Ford Mustang GT3, and the Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport are all set to arrive, leaving just one more slot for a brand-new car to be included in the update.
