Assetto Corsa EVO: Porsche 935 Confirmed As First v0.7 Car

Kunos Simulazioni have confirmed the first car for the upcoming Assetto Corsa EVO v0.7 release: The 2018 Porsche 935 is coming.

The release of Assetto Corsa EVO v0.6 was just over a month ago, and it looks like the next one might not be too far off anymore, either: Kunos Simulazioni have started confirming new content for the upcoming v0.7 release, and the first car on the list is a set of wheels familiar to owners of the Assetto Corsa Competizione GT2 DLC.

2018's reimagination of the iconic Porsche 935 will join AC EVO once the next release is out. The car might look similar to its immensely successful older brother that raced in DRM, at Le Mans, and IMSA with enormous longevity - the original 935 was raced in various variants between 1976 and 1986.

Looks aside, the old and new car don't really share much: Technically, the 2018 935 is a Porsche 911 GT2 RS underneath its retro-inspired shell, including a twin-turbo flat 6 engine capable of about 690 horsepower. There are shared elements with other Porsche racecars as well, like the tail lights that could also be found on the 919 LMP1 car that raced in WEC until 2017.

Do you think the 2018 Porsche 935 is a good addition to Assetto Corsa EVO? Let us know in the comments below and join the discussion in our AC EVO forum!
